To Post or Not To Post

From: Karen Ruhl (ruhlette@yahoo.com) | Date: 2004-08-22 17:49:08 UTC-07:00
I am following all the discussion about the growing popularity and
evolution of letterboxing. It seems there there is a growing distance
between those who would call this activity a sport and those who consider
it a hobby. After 4 months on the trail, I am hooked. It will remain a
hobby for me, but I understand those who like the competitive
(advantage-seeking) sporting aspect.

I consider it to be a bit of both... like golf or billiards. Some do it
as a hobby while others do it as a sport to compete. I love it regardless
of who calls it what. It sounds so stupid on paper but it's one of the
most fun things I've ever done from making stamps to finding boxes. I
haven't yet placed any but I plan to really soon, I just gotta make a stamp
and find a place to put it.

Perception and reality - this little group discussion may not accurately
reflect my original simple conclusion. I do like your analogy.

Yeah - I am enjoying my second childhood! Well, in a short time, I may be
considered eccentric. Bring on the purple dresses and red hats!

I'm just getting over my first and it was no childhood so I'm taking mine
now while I can, lol.

Ahh... love boxin'. I'm gonna go start on making one in a bit and I'm
gonna go ahead and mount my stamp (from an eraser). Know what is best to
fix it to wood with?

I used rubber cement and it seems to work great! Just remember to put it
on both surfaces and let it dry almost completely before putting them
together. ~speedsquare

You can also use Craft Goop or Household Goop. That is what I use,
and it has worked great!
